MSSU Student Killed In Crash

Missouri Southern State University is mourning the loss of one of their own. Sophomore running back and student Renard J. Johnson, Jr., 21, was killed Monday afternoon when he lost control of the 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer he was driving. Renard was traveling west on the Will Rogers Turnpike when he attempted to pass a tractor trailer unit and lost control. He was hit by the semi, ran off the roadway, and overturned. Renard was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
