Looks like another ice storm is in the works for Southern Missouri as we begin next week. According to all of the data that is available to look at, it appears that we will likely see significant ice accumulations. Temperatures will have a hard time warming above freezing next week, too. That means that anything that falls will be around for a bit. I don't think it is time to start jumping on the January 2007 panic bus yet, but this storm system will definitely have to be monitored. Below is the latest map from the National Weather Service in Springfield concerning the upcoming event.
